FOURTH MANDALA
(42)
SA CHETAYAN MANUSHO YAGYABANDHUH !
Agni-the
benefactor of all makes all the people present in Yagya, knowledgeable.
The importance of agni in a yagya ceremony is well known. In a Yagya all people
come together and imbibe the lesson of unity and become aware of each other's
happiness and sorrow. A person taking part in a Yagya or similar religious
activities can impart knowledge to others. That is why one should encourage
people towards social activities and enlighten or enkindle their mind with the
lamp of knowledge. The strength of unity and federation are unquestionable.

DITIM CHA RAASWAA DITI MURUSHYA |
------------(2/11,
Rigveda)
Please bless us
with benevolence and keep us away from miserliness.
Those who are misers shall never part with their money. On the contrary the
benevolent is always adored and respected. One should therefore strongly resent
miserliness and indulge in charity because one can acquire the never-ending
wealth of immortality by doing so.
Those who donate enthusiastically make constant efforts to increase their income
so that they never find problems in making charity.
(44) KIM SA RIDHAK KRINVAD YAM SAHASRAM MAASO JABHAAR SHARADASHCHA PURVEEH |
------------(18/4,
Rigveda)
Why shall he
perform bad Karma who has been properly nurtured for many a thousand months and
years?
It is expected from humans that they nurture all the people dependent on them
with love and affection, and it is expected from the recipient that he does not
do anything against the wishes of the donor or guardian.
There should be mutual love and co-operation between the guardian and the
recipient. Lack of faith, treachery, arguments and animosity only breed
malevolence. It is in the best interest of all to avoid this and tread on the
path of progress.

RITASYA HI SHURUDHAH SANTI PURVIR RITASYA DHEETIR VRIJINAANI HANTI|
------------(23/8,
Rigveda)
Good deeds possess unsurmountable energy and good intellect destroys all sin. The wicked abhor good things. One can gain more strength and energy by performing good deeds. Deeds done with a sense of righteousness do not give an opportunity for sin to breed and consequently inhibit the emergence of sin and evil. Only a good intellect can orient towards good work. Praise makes the wicked deaf(they can't tolerate criticism) while people who praise become successful because of their humility.

PRIYAH SUKRIT PRIYA INDRE MANAYUH PRIYAH SUPRAAVIH PRIYO ASYA SOMI ||
-------------(25/5,
Rigveda)
Indra only
blesses those who perform good deeds, tread on the righteous path and perform
religious sacrifices.
The leader who cares for his subject cannot be vanquished even if all his
enemies become united. Indra prefers only those who perform good deeds and who
tread on the path of righteousness. By doing so these people earn honour, praise
and success. Good karmas make a man successful and he becomes their leader. Even
God blesses only those who are contemplative, intelligent and the protectors of
the weak.
